Atlantic County’s Web site is back in operation and county officials contend they will prosecute whoever broke in and put anti-government propaganda into the system. A hacker vandalized the Web site this past weekend, forcing county officials to disable the site for slightly less than 24 hours. Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson said the site was up and running again by Monday morning. He also said the county continues to investigate just what happened, along with who is responsible. “We’re looking to find out how it was breeched,” Levin-son said. “We have a firewall in place at the present time.” Because the slogans found on the Web site were directed at the U.S. government and not county government, Levinson said the hacker doesn’t necessarily have to be local.
