Man Arrested for Allegedly Shutting Down Employers' Computers

A former network administrator for a pair of airport transportation companies was arrested for allegedly hacking into a computer system and eliminating the customer database, authorities said. Alan Giang Tran, 28, of Fountain Valley was arrested Thursday after a criminal complaint was filed in federal court against him earlier in the week. The complaint accuses Tran of intentionally causing damage to a protected computer and recklessly causing damage by intentionally accessing a protected computer. Tran was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned March 17. If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in federal prison. Full Story
