He is a senior opposition politician in Cambodia. The killing of one of Cambodia’s opposition Funcinpec party’s senior politicians appears to have been politically motivated, the party said as rights groups condemned the killing. An unidentified gunman shot high-ranking Funcinpec member Om Radsady, a former MP, twice on Tuesday as he was leaving a Phnom Penh restaurant soon after midday. Mr Radsady, 51, died in hospital. The Interior Ministry said late on Tuesday that his attacker had stolen his mobile phone before shooting him. ‘I don’t believe that it was only because of a mobile phone that the attackers killed him,’ Funcinpec president Prince Norodom Ranariddh told reporters. ‘If so, the country’s honour will certainly drop when people kill each other because of a mobile phone. ‘He was not involved with sex affairs either, so the only remaining (reason) was a political motivation,’ he said.
