Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge on Wednesday announced a “Ready Campaign” to advise families on what they can do to protect themselves against terrorism. The program includes public service announcements that encourage families to have a communications plan so members can reach each other in an emergency; to make a supply kit with flashlights, batteries, water and other necessities; and to learn more about terrorism. “The threat of terrorism forces us to make a choice: We can be afraid or we can be ready,” Ridge said. “Today, America’s families declare we will not be afraid and will be ready.” Full Story
