A powerful explosion destroyed a shop and a car owned by a Serb in the U.S.-controlled eastern section of Kosovo, a U.N. official said Thursday. The explosion occurred late Wednesday in the center of the ethnically mixed town of Kosovska Kamenica, 30 miles east of the province’s capital, Pristina, said Andrea Angeli, a spokesman for the U.N. mission in Kosovo. NATO-led peacekeepers cordoned off the area, and U.N. and local police officers were investigating, Angeli said. No one was injured in the blast. It was the second attack in less than a week in the U.S.-controlled part of Kosovo. On Friday, a hand grenade was thrown from a passing vehicle at a shop, injuring four Serbs.
