Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said on Saturday that use of the deadly toxin ricin could be traced back to Chechen rebels, and makeshift laboratories had been found in Georgia’s Pankisi Gorge. Speaking at a security conference in Munich, Ivanov said “Chechen-brand terrorism” was an intrinsic part of alleged terrorist activities which have surfaced recently in various countries, including France and Britain. “As for the training and instruction base for the international chemical terrorists, it is a well-known destination — the Pankisi Gorge in Georgia,” he said.
