'Sabotage Possible' in Sydney Train Crash
Investigators in Australia say sabotage has emerged as a possible cause of a train crash near Sydney in which eight people were killed. The New South Wales government has confirmed crushed rocks were found on the railway close to where the commuter service was derailed just over a week go. Two theories are being considered: that this debris was deliberately placed on the line before the crash, or it was left behind as a result of the accident. If sabotage did cause this fatal crash 20 miles (30 kilometres) south of Sydney, the inquiry will become a major criminal investigation. The crash was Australia’s worst rail disaster for 26 years.
