Computer Hacker Convicted of Spying on Judge
It only took a jury two hours to agree on convicting a Pittsburgh man on three counts of unauthorized access to a protected computer. Evidence showed that Brian T. Ferguson, 43, gained access to the America Online account of Common Pleas Court Judge Kim D. Eaton on three separate occasions. The cost of his online snooping? Although sentencing isn’t scheduled until April 11, 2003, the Federal Sentencing Guidelines would permit up to three years in prison, a fine of $300,000, or both. Full Story
