Nepal rebels name peace talks team
In Nepal, the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) has announced a five-member negotiating team to hold peace talks with the government. In a statement issued on Sunday, the Chairman of the underground Maoist party, Prachanda, said that his party had re-constituted the negotiating team. The team will be led by senior Maoist leader, Dr Baburam Bhattarai. The government has already nominated a cabinet minister, Narayan Singh Pun, to lead the official negotiating team. Both the government and the rebels announced a cease-fire last Wednesday paving the way for a negotiated settlement to end the seven-year-old insurgency. Full Story
