NATO peacekeepers said on Thursday they have handed over to Bosnian police a Muslim man detained in October on suspicion of spying on their troops and alleged links with al Qaeda. Sabahudin Fiuljanin was arrested on October 26 near a Stabilisation Force (SFOR) base in northern Bosnia. Troops said they found an anti-tank weapon in his house, Bosnian and other passports in his name, and later said they had information linking him with al Qaeda. Fiuljanin denied the charges. SFOR detained Fiuljanin for three months without charge and without presenting evidence of his alleged link to al Qaeda, prompting human rights groups, including Amnesty International, to accuse the force of trampling on his rights.
