PRESIDENT Macapagal-Arroyo yesterday banned the carrying of guns by civilians and off-duty police and military men in public places. She also suspended indefinitely the issuance to civilians of gun licenses and permits to carry firearms. The President issued these directives during the 12th anniversary celebration of the Philippine National Police in Camp Crame where she said in a speech that she wants to see the Philippines become a “gun-less society” in the remaining months of her term.
