A Kenyan man helping U.S. agents capture a Rwandan genocide suspect was murdered by a hit squad a day before a failed raid to seize the fugitive (news – Y! TV) in Nairobi, Kenya’s Daily Nation reported Tuesday. The U.S. Embassy said it suspected the death last week was tied to efforts by Rwandan businessman Felicien Kabuga to evade being arrested and tried for his alleged role in the 1994 genocide in which 800,000 people were killed. “The (United States) the embassy does suspect that the apparent murder … is linked to Mr. Kabuga’s efforts to evade capture,” said U.S. Embassy spokesman Peter Claussen.
