Osama bin Laden`s al-Qaida network and six other Islamic organizations have been designated terrorist groups under a new Canadian law that makes it illegal to have any contact with them. The list published July 23 also names the Armed Islamic Group and Salafist Group for Call and Combat of Algeria, Al Jihad, Al-Gama`a Al Islamiyya and Vanguards of Conquest of Egypt, and Al-Ittihad Al-Islam of Somalia.
