Two military jets escorted a civilian passenger plane into New York after a report of suspicious passengers, but they turned out to be performance artists from India, officials said on Wednesday. In an incident of post-Sept. 11 jitters, a passenger aboard American Trans Air Flight 204 from Chicago to New York`s La Guardia airport on Tuesday night reported seven other travelers were passing notes to each other and switching seats, an airport spokesman said.
