Pakistan to ban teaching radical Islam
Pakistan will soon enact laws that ban the teaching of extreme Islamic views at its 8,000 madrassas, or religious schools, the country`s religious minister said Thursday. “No madrassas will be allowed to indulge in militancy,” Mehmood Ghazi told reporters at a press conference. Islamic clerics who refuse to obey the laws would face prison terms of up to two years, he said. Full Story
