Five Killed in Kenya Attack, Officials Say

“Men wielding machetes and guns attacked a village on Kenya’s coast, killing five people, a week after gunmen claiming allegiance to the Somali militant group al-Shabaab slaughtered 60 in the region, officials said Tuesday. But while last week’s attacks clearly involved militants or people trained by them, the attack in a village near the town of Witu late Monday night appeared to be local, officials said.”
