Wars of the future will be short, sharp and bloody, says U.K. Army chief

“Gen Sir Peter Wall said ‘aversion to risk’ had increased during the lengthy Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns.
Future operations were likely to be short, sharp interventions, where commanders would need to take risks.
Winning such conflicts would need the public and the Armed Forces to ‘recalibrate our tolerances’, he said.
The Chief of the General Staff also predicted that cyber warfare would be key to the Armed Forces, as he outlined how the Army must change after a decade in Afghanistan and Iraq.”
