“People from several communities in Monrovia and other parts of the country have persistently complained that the police is not doing enough to protect them against armed robbers and other criminals. In August when President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf imposed a nationwide curfew, armed robbery was on the increase with robbers rampaging communities, prompting the setting up of community watch teams and communities taking matters in their hands to protect themselves against robbers and other criminals.”
