Health Department: Zika virus found in Virginia resident

“A northwestern Virginia resident has tested positive for the Zika virus after traveling abroad, according to a statement from the Virginia Department of Health. State officials are warning of the potential for contracting the illness, spread through mosquito bites, when traveling internationally. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has identified a possible connection between the infection in pregnant women and birth defects.”
