Fresh blast rocks southern Chinese town: State media

“A fresh explosion rocked a Chinese town on Thursday (Oct 1), a day after 17 parcel bombs killed at least seven people and wounded scores more, state media reported. No injuries were reported in the latest blast, which came hours after apartment buildings were brought down and a supermarket was shattered in a wave of bombings in southwest Guangxi. Police were quick to rule out a ‘terrorist act’, saying on Wednesday they were treating the explosions as a ‘criminal case’. The apparent attacks come amid a wave of unrest linked to China’s Uighur ethnic minority.”
