Libya: western countries urge citizens to leave as civil war intensifies

“Western countries urged their citizens to leave Libya yesterday, as the country descended further into civil war and British diplomats came under fire. As fighting raged across the country leaving 59 dead, Britain warned against travel to Libya, and told those already there to leave. ‘British nationals in Libya should leave now by commercial means,’ the Foreign Office said. Britain’s embassy would remain open but with reduced staff.”
