“Symantec researchers have spotted a new campaign targeting energy companies around the world, with a focus on petroleum, gas and helium industries in the Middle East.
When breaking down the regions targeted by the Laziok Trojan, which acts as a reconnaissance tool allowing the attackers to gather data about the infected machine, the United Arab Emirates has been targeted the most (25%), followed by Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Kuwait (all at 10%).”
