“South Korean police have raised the nation’s terror alert to the highest level three days ahead of the opening of the Group of 20 summit in Seoul, officials said Monday.
The terror alert has been elevated to ‘severe’ — the highest of the four tiers — for the first time since 2001 when the government established a state counterterrorism committee in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the United States, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency said.
