“The South Korean government has summoned China’s consul general in Seoul to lodge a formal protest after the sinking of a Korean Coast Guard (KCG) boat. According to a Yonhap news report on 9 October citing the KCG, the 4.5-tonne boat that capsized and sank about 76 km southwest of Socheong Island after it was struck from behind by a 100-tonne Chinese fishing vessel on 7 October.”
