Google Chrome Users Warned: Don’t Click To Update Browser On Websites

Security experts are warning of an increase in fake browser update attacks, where users are tricked into downloading malicious software. When a user attempts to access content on the site, a pop-up appears urging the user to update their browser to the latest version to view the site. When users click on the fake update button, it leads to the automatic installation of malware designed to steal the user’s personal details. Google Chrome isn’t the only browser subject to such attacks. Microsoft’s Edge browser and Firefox have also come under similar attack, however Chrome is the biggest target for the malware gangs.
