Catch Hospitality Group announced over the weekend that three of its restaurants in New York City had their point-of-sale (PoS) systems infected malware earlier this year. The malware was capable of obtaining payment card information including the name of the card holder as well as the card number, expiration date and internal verification code.
The restaurants Catch NYC and Catch Roof were compromised from March 19 through October 17 of this year, while Catch Steak was compromised from Sept. 17 through Oct. 17. Catch Hospitality Group did not say how many customers were impacted by the breach, but stated that it has “reported the incident to our payment processor” and is currently “supporting an investigation by law enforcement.”
