(ISC)2 warns that the number of unfilled cybersecurity positions has exceeded 4 million, which means that the number of open jobs has grown by more than 1 million since last year. North America accounts for 561,000 unfilled positions, and the Asia-Pacific region for a mind-boggling 2.6 million open vacancies.
In Europe the skills shortage has more than doubled from 142,000 last year to 291,000 now. Two-thirds (65%) of organizations say they lack cybersecurity staff. A majority (51%) of professionals believe the skills shortage is putting their company at risk.
