A new study by Alsid and YouGov found that 36% of organizations believe that when the current threat landscape is taken into account, their cybersecurity posture is weaker than it was 5 years ago. Despite that, 72% of companies say they are ready to handle a major ransomware attack.
The report also also highlights the importance of securing the Active Directory, which is frequently targeted in ransomware and other cyber attacks, but is still overlooked as a potential attack vector by some organizations. In 27% of organizations the IT team is responsible for Active Directory security, while 19% have delegated this to their cybersecurity staff and 16% have a specialist overseeing this task. Shockingly, 24% of IT professionals in the survey said they did not know who handles Active Directory security in their firm.
