Just over half (52%) of organizations need between 1 day and a week to address a newly discovered vulnerability in their environment, while 22% require a month or longer, a new report by Adaptiva shows. Only about one in four firms (26%) is capable of remediating flaws within 24 hours after their discovery. Almost half (47%) of companies consider effectively monitoring endpoints for vulnerabilities the most difficult security best practice to implement.
Even though using an unsupported operating system can seriously undermine the security posture of an organization, the survey also found that just 29% of businesses will be able to migrate all their Windows 7 systems to Windows 10 before January 14 of next year, when support for Windows 7 officially ends. 87% of firms indicated that they will be able to complete the migration for at least the majority of their systems before the support deadline.
