Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of Islamic State, killed himself by detonating a suicide-vest on Saturday when US special forces raided his hideout in northwestern Syria, US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday.
While analysts believe the death of the terror group’s notoriously ruthless leader is bound to hurt the organization, they also warn that IS and other actors loyal to the group may carry out retaliatory attacks.
