A mere 29.6% of enterprises across the world say that endpoint security is a significant part of their cybersecurity program, a recent survey by IDC indicates. However, firms that are considered “leaders” in terms of their cybersecurity posture, are twice as likely to prioritize endpoint security than other firms. About half (49.4%) of organizations think endpoint security can be effective as a secondary component.
The study suggest that the failure to prioritize endpoint security tends to undermine procurement standards, which puts companies at increased risk in the long run. It also shows that cybersecurity leaders are more likely to care whether or not devices they are considering to purchase have built-in security features.
