84% of IT decision-makers lack the financial resources needed to achieve a minimum level of security for their organization and 94% believe more work needs to be done to improve the security practices in their firm, a recent Cisco survey found. 56% of organizations have suffered a significant security incident in the past year.
The security budgets of organizations in the survey break down as follows:
- Mid-market firms (250-999 employees): less than $250,000 (46%), between $250,000 to $999,999 (43%)
- Enterprises (1,000-9,999 employees): between $250,000 and $999,999 (57%), less than $250,000 (23%), $1M+ (20%)
- Large enterprises (10,000+ employees): $1M+ (50%), between $250,000 and $999,999 (43%).
