Most Fortune 500 firms hardly provide any information about how they protect customer data, a new Bitglass survey found. In fact, 52% of these businesses don’t mention anything about their data protection efforts on their websites. In addition, close to 80% of organizations have no information on their websites about the person who is in charge of the firm’s security program.
The report also shows that close to 2 in 5 Fortune 500 companies still do not employ a chief information security officer (CISO). This may not be a big problem if those firms have another executive position overseeing security strategy, but this is not the case at 84% of companies that lack a CISO.
