A new Wipro study looks at the maturing cybersecurity strategies of companies across the globe. Around 20% of firms now have a CISO directly reporting to the CEO and 15% of firms spend more than 10% of their IT budget on security. In addition, almost two-thirds (65%) of firms are monitoring and reporting on their compliance efforts, while nearly 2 in 5 (39%) have a specific cyber insurance policy.
Despite these efforts, the report shows that even though the number of major breaches dropped by 25%, 232 records are currently being exposed every second, which marks a massive 164% increase. And because threat actors are increasingly out to get highly valuable information, 38% of targeted records contained both personally identifiable information (PII) and security credentials.
