A new ESET survey reveals that the vast majority of businesses are still completely unprepared for the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), which goes into effect on the first day of 2020. While a mere 11.8% of organizations know whether or not the CCPA affects them, 44.2% of businesses aren’t even aware of the stringent privacy legislation.
In addition, more than one in three (34%) business leaders aren’t sure to what extend the CCPA will require them to change the way they handle customer data and about the same amount of respondents (35.3%) believe they will not need to make any adjustments to meet CCPA compliance, while 22% claim they simply “don’t care” about it.
