The recent data breach at American Medical Collection Agency (AMCA), a billing collection services provider, has not just affected client data of diagnostic services giant Quest Diagnostics Incorporated, as was initially thought. Medical diagnostics firm LabCorp says that it was also impacted by the breach.
The total number of affected consumers is now estimated at 19.6 million: 11.9 million Quest customers and 7.7 million LabCorp customers. The leaked data includes names, birth dates, addresses, phone numbers, financial information and medial information. Social Security numbers and credit card information may also have been compromised.
