New research by Tripwire shows that 27% of companies around the globe have experienced a security breach caused by their failure to patch vulnerabilities affecting their systems.
The survey also found that many organizations have a hard time keeping track of all the devices and applications on their networks. While 59% can spot alterations to their networks within minutes or hours, 47% of firms say that most of their IT assets need to be detected manually. As part of their vulnerability management program, 88% of companies make use of vulnerability scans, but 39% run scans less than once a week.
