A new report by Nominet found that 90% of US and UK C-level executives think they lack important resources that could help them battle against cyber threats. Organizations often do not have sufficient advanced technology (59%), an adequate budget (44%) or enough skilled employees (41%) to optimize their cyber defenses.
The survey also found that over three-quarters (76%) of respondents believe that security breaches are inevitable. C-level executives appear to be confused about who is responsible for breach response, since 35% said the CEO is in charge of that, and 32% mentioned the CISO. In addition, 71% of respondents acknowledged that they don’t known everything they should know about cyber threats.
