NATO Warns Russia of ‘Full Range’ of Responses to Cyberattack

NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg on Thursday warned adversaries that the alliance “can and will use the full range of capabilities at our disposal” to respond to cyberattacks. This week, elections for the European Parliament are held in all EU member states, which has European governments worried about Russian hacking and misinformation campaigns.

UK Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt stated that his country’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has informed 16 of the 29 NATO members about malicious cyber operations originating from Russia over the past 18 months and accusing Russian state-backed hackers of election meddling in Ukraine in 2014.
