Iran indicated on Monday that it will reduce some of the commitments it made under the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is set to specify the policy changes on Wednesday. However, the country said it is not pulling out of the agreement.
Tensions between the US and Iran have dramatically increased since the US under president Donald Trump abandoned the nuclear deal and reimposed sanctions on the country. The situation further escalated in recent weeks after the US increased sanctions and designated Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) a foreign terrorist organization.
