A new CyberArk report exposes various inconsistencies in how organizations approach cybersecurity. The survey found that even though 61% of firms believe that downtime affecting critical applications like Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) apps would have severe consequences, only around 30% of businesses prioritize the security of such apps.
In addition, many organizations seem to overestimate the effectiveness of their cybersecurity program. A large majority (72%) of companies are convinced they can block data security attacks at the perimeter. However, 56% of organizations actually experienced problems with critical applications in the past 2 years, including data loss, integrity issues and service disruptions.
