According to a document seen by various news organizations including Reuters and the Daily Beast, the Trump administration has authorized six companies to sell nuclear power technology to Saudi Arabia as part of a wider government effort to transfer nuclear power technology to Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia is planning to build a minimum of two nuclear power plants and is considering offers from the United States, Russia, South Korea and various other countries for the project.
Various US lawmakers and analysts are warning that the transfer of nuclear power technology to Saudi Arabia may set off a nuclear arms race in the Middle East between Saudi Arabia and Iran, while Israel will have a strong incentive to participate as well.
