Norwegian aluminum giant Norsk Hydro has said that it will not be paying the ransom demanded by the threat actors behind the malware that infected the company’s systems last week.
The severe cyberattack forced Norsk Hydro to switch to manual operations, but the company has hired security experts with Microsoft and other firms to help it recover from the attack and resume normal operations. Instead of paying for a decryption key to regain access to the data encrypted by the ransomware, the firm will restore its systems from backups.
