In addition to discussing the US government’s new cyber strategy, Department of Defense (DoD) officials on Wednesday elaborated on the growing cyber threat from Russia, China, North Korea and Iran in a hearing of the House Armed Services Subcommittee.
According to the officials, the DoD will draw on the positive results of its advanced efforts to combat Russian cyber campaigns aiming to interfere in the 2018 US midterm elections in order to protect the presidential elections in 2020. US Cyber Command will play a vital role in mitigating foreign cyber threats through a more offensive approach, although it will collaborate with various other agencies.
