The US Navy has released its new broad strategy for the domain of information warfare in the “Navy Cryptologic Cyber Warfare Community Vision.” While the document contains few details, it mentions that the Navy’ mission is “to deliver competitive outcomes in all domains of warfare through the application of Cyberspace Operations(CO), Signals Intelligence(SIGINT), and Electronic Warfare(EW).”
A top Navy official recently said about the strategy that “[i]nformation is increasingly a weapon of choice amongst our strategic competitors,” which requires the US to “excel at warfare ” in the domains of “[s]pace, cyberspace and the electromagnetic spectrum.”
