A new study by Trend Micro and The Ponemon Institute indicates that IT business leaders consider cyberattacks among the biggest threats to their organizations. A whopping 8 out of 10 respondents in the study fear that their business will suffer a critical security breach or cyberattack this year.
The Cyber Risk Index also found that businesses anticipate that a breach will cause them to lose critical information like R&D data, trade secrets and customer information. According to Jon Clay of Trend Micro, the report demonstrates that “companies are at an elevated risk for cyberattack because critical data, operations, infrastructure and human capital are not well prioritized and protected.”
