Iran says its rockets will send two satellites into orbit, despite US concerns

Iran is moving forward with plans to launch two new satellites using domestically-produced rockets, pushing through US accusations that such launches defy UN Security Council resolutions that calls on the country not to carry out operations related to nuclear-capable ballistic missiles. Iran insists that these launches and rockets built to carry them out do not violate the resolution. US-Iran relations are at an especially low ebb, as this launch and the showdown over Syria has seen the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo vow that the US would remain involved until every Iranian boot had left Syrian soil.
