“Another day, another data breach?” Breach fatigue is setting in as the next new breach hits headlines on an overwhelmingly regular basis. Rather than “tuning out” or ignoring the breaches, however, they must become alarm bells that drive companies, individuals, and governments around the world to implement proactive security practices to protect and serve those whose data they store. How many of the leading breaches do you remember? How many involved your information? Among the leading breaches this year were Google+ (52.5 million), Ticketmaster (uncertain number), Marriot Hotels (500 million), Under Armor/MyFitnessPal (150 million), Facebook…Facebook….Facebook (70+ million), NASA (number still unannounced), T-Mobile (2.3 million), Ticketfly (26 million), Orbitz (880,000), and Quora (100 million).
