$42 billion in deals reportedly signed at forum in Far East

Putin has touted the outcome of the recent Eastern Economic Forum attended by the leaders of China, Russia, and Japan as massively successful. Significant economic investment deals were reportedly inked, at a time of economic import as both Russia and China are dealing with the fallout of U.S. tariffs. Putin also made a surprising gesture to Japan, mentioning that the two might formally reach a peace agreement for World War II, something that has never happened as Japan as contested Russian seizure of several Japanese islands at the end of the war.
