British Airways apologized today after a discovery on Wednesday that revealed that information on all credit cards used in bookings from August 21st to September 5th had been compromised, with the hacker (or group of hackers) obtaining information on 380,000 card payments, including names, addresses, credit card numbers, expiry dates and security codes. The apology announced that the hackers did not break the company’s encryption, but did not explain exactly how they accessed the information.
